Fun with the grandparents!

Macy got to spend some quality time with her grandparents for a few days while Steve and I took a trip to Mexico with friends. I am not sure who had more fun....Macy or the grandparents!! Steve and I left REALLY early Friday morning (Jan. 29) so Macy spent Thursday night at my parents' house and then stayed there through Sunday afternoon. From there, she went to Steve's parents' house until Tuesday afternoon. Then my mom went and got her and brought her to our house to put her to bed. Our flight got in around 7 p.m. on Tuesday (Feb. 2) night so then we didn't actually get to see her until Wednesday morning. Macy did so good while we were gone - I don't think she even missed us!! She ate and slept well and it sounds like she kept everyone entertained! Steve and I sure missed her but were thankful for the time away also. We were with two other couples - Bob and Mindy - Trevor and Lisa - and we had SO MUCH FUN!! We are grateful for such awesome friends!

Otherwise, things are going well at our house. Steve is (temporarily) laid-off so he and Macy are getting some good bonding time. Mommy is a little jealous! :-)

Macy is sure talking a lot lately! She is repeating whatever we say and has started to put a few short sentences together - it is so cute! Some of the things she is saying:

  • Boo Goy (Good Boy) to Sam all the time

  • Sammy Barking! (whenever he barks) and then sometimes will follow-up with a "Nauny"! (Naughty)

  • Yellow (She thinks every color is yellow but will repeat the other colors)

  • Why it broken? (Because that is an excuse we use for a couple things we don't want her to have/play with)

  • And just lots of other words by themselves!!!! Her vocabulary has really grown these past few weeks. It is so fun to hear her ask for things by their real name!

Here a few pictures from our trip....

A Busy Long Weekend!

We hope you all had a very Merry Christmas!!
It was sure a busy but very fun long weekend for us! Macy had a blast playing with everyone and all of her new toys but she sure was tired. On Christmas Eve we were at my mom and dad's, then Christmas Day we opened presents at home in the morning and then headed to Grandma Buck's for the day. Well, Macy went down for an early nap so her and Daddy came a little late. Then the day after Christmas we were at Steve's parents for his immediate family and then headed to my aunt and uncle's in Wanamingo in the evening for the Ryan side. On Sunday, Macy and I went to my friend's house for a little get-together with high schoool friends. WHEW!! Like I said, busy but lots of fun!
Here are a few of the many pictures from the long weekend...

Macy has a stunned look and everyone else is laughing because we took her sippy and blankie away and snapped the picture quick before the tears came! Again, VERY tired! :-)

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

The Cast is OFF!!!

Macy was able to get her cast off on Wednesday - YAY!! The appointment went very well and pretty quick. The nurse took the cast off right away and then we took some x-rays and everything looked great and STRAIGHT so we were able to leave after that. The doctor still said the next few weeks are crucial for her as there still is risk for refracturing. They said it will take about 3 months for it to completely heal so we are still supposed to be careful. Easier said than done with a 1 1/2 year old!!!! But we are trying! :-)

Getting ready to get that cast off!
(Terrible picture of me but you know how Steve is...Good Enough!!)

Almost off!

Yay - it's off!!!

Not a fan of Santa this year....

This past Saturday, I took Macy down to see Santa at the Goodhue Community Christmas. As I predicted, she wasn't a big fan (as you can tell by the picture below). She didn't want to sit on his lap and was still crying when I tried to hold her for a picture.
Oh well....maybe next year...or maybe not! :-)
She didn't mind a picture with the Miss Goodhue Royalty though....maybe it had something to do with that cookie in her hand!
